April Favorites

Greetings wonderful people. And although it has been a while since my last post, I am indeed grateful to be back. I am also happy to say, i'll be receiving my degree in exactly 7 days!!! Well enough about me. This post is to tell you all about some of my favorite products of the month of April as well as a few songs I have been blasting in my car. So here we go.....

Milani Multitasker Face Powder
06 Medium Tan
I came across this face powder when I was looking for a dupe for the MAC mineralized skin finish natural. I was unable to get to the MAC counter at the time, so I began to seek out an alternative at the drug store, and came across this face powder. I have to say, it does the job! I don't wear foundation, so I use this face powder after I put on my concealer to make the transition smoother. If you're looking for a MAC MSFN dupe, I'd definitely recommend this product.

Retail price: $5.99

Physicians Formula Eye booster Eyeliner
Ultra Black
I first saw this product being used by a makeup guru on youtube (can't recall who), and it looked amazing. I went to Target to purchase it, and it has been Heaven sent ever since. Honestly, I have had this eyeliner for a while (it lasts for a very long time), and it hasn't failed me yet. It continues to give me the best winged eyeliner that a girl could ever ask for. At first, I thought the price was a tad bit expensive, but since it has literally lasted over 6months, I cannot complain!!

Retail price: $10.87

MAC Pro Longer Concealer
NC35
At first, I had a love/hate relationship with this concealer. Before purchasing, I looked up reviews and saw that most people really loved it. I purchased it, got home to try it, and clearly I must have the darkest under eye circles in the world, because I was not impressed with the coverage. So I went back to my Studio Finish. Then the lightbulb in my head went off!! Use it as a highlight Ebony (since it is 2 shades lighter than my complexion). So I layered it over the Studio Finish (NC45), and it is a wonder!! Its easy to apply since it is liquid, and a little does go a LONG WAY. Only downfall is, the pump kind of dispenses alot with one pump, so you have to be light handed when using.

Retail price: $17

Mehron Face Smoothie Sponge
I purchased 2 of these at last years Makeup Show here in Chicago, and honestly I never touched them. Not even on clients. Recently I was looking for an alternative to applying my concealer, since sometimes it seemed to crease. I decided to to reach for this sponge and give it a try, and it worked! No more creasing, and it gets in the small areas that my finger couldn't. I love it!

Retail price: Between $10-12

MAC Fix +
I purchased this last year at the MAC store, since it was sitting on a nice rack at the register (Its the travel size). I had never used it, until like 2 weeks ago. I decided to try it because I wanted my makeup to be set for the day. And it works! It set my makeup, and it looked fresh throughout the day. Now, I don't dare leave out the house without a spray, or TWO!!

Retail price: $10 for travel size, $20 for regular size

Black Radiance Artisan Color Baked Blush
8312 Raspberry
I was a Black Radiance newbie, and came across the line in a Walgreens and decided to give them a shot. I purchased this blush, a mascara, and corrector/ concealer. While I was less than pleased with the other products, I was pleasantly satisfied with the blush. It is very pigmented, and a little goes a long way. Looks great when you have a neutral eye. Adds some color to your face.

Retail price:$4.99

FAVORITE MUSIC OF THE MONTH
I am a HUGE music fan. Bigger than makeup and fashion. Music is deep within. Seems like every few weeks, I have a new playlist. These are some of the songs I am enjoying the most. Click the link/video to hear for yourself!! (I am big on gospel, but I like smooth R&B as well.)

Kirk Franklin- My Life, My Love, My All

Incredible God, Incredible Praise-Youthful Praise

Refill- Elle Varner

It It's Love- KEM ft. Chrisette Michelle

Appreciate you stopping by!! Come back again!!

Glitter Done Right

Hello All! Its been a while since I've posted, but here I am again with a FOTD (Face of the Day) and product list. Hope you enjoy!

Glitter Done Right

Products used;

Eyes:

Two Faced Shadow Insurance. NYX Jumbo Pencil in Black to act as a base under my eyeshadows. Silver eyeshadow out of Wet n' Wild palette 'Blue Had Me At Hello' on half of the eye, leaving the outer V blank. Matte Black eyeshadow out of same palette placed in the outer V and blended into the crease with a fluffy blending brush I purchased from Crown Brush. I blended the black and silver together with the same brush, and softened the harsh lines by placing Magnolia Makeups Caramel Pigment above the crease. I highlighted my brow bone with Magnolia Makeup's Camel pigment. I placed LIT cosmetics glitter glue on top of the silver and black eyeshadows, and carefully placed Mehron's silver glitter on top. To blend the glitter with the eyeshadow, I placed more black on, and blended. Lined my lash line with maybelline liquid eyeliner, and my waterline with Urban Decay 24/7 eyeliner in Zero. Mascara is MAC Zoom Lash.

Brows:

I outlined my brows with MAC brow pencil in Spiked and filled in the brow with a no name dark brown eyeshadow. Concealer around the brow was Bobbi Brown in Dark Bisque.

Face:

Concealer I used was Bobbi Brown Corrector in Dark Bisque, followed by Bobbi Brown concealer in Golden. To set the concealer, I used the powder in the concealer package. I didnt use any foundation, instead I put MAC Mineralized Skin Finish on my whole face with a Fluffy Powder Brush from Crown Brush. I contoured my cheekbones with MAC Swiss Chocolate eyeshadow. Blush is Wet n' Wild Heather Silk.

Lips:

I applied Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip Tar in Anime.

Inglot Eyeshadows!!!

Hello lovebugs!!

If you search makeup videos on YouTube like I do, then I'm sure you've come across more than a few makeup guru's talking about Inglot Cosmetics. Inglot is a cosmetic company who's principal objective was to create high quality products, at reasonable prices. And in my opinion, they have succeeded. Initially, people in the U.S.A. could only purchase INGLOT in only 5 stores across the map. As of a few months ago, they began an online store for people in the USA and Australia.

INGLOT is most known for their FREEDOM SYSTEM which allows you to create your own palette with either Face products, Lipsticks, Eyeshadows, or things for your eyebrows. Whats so great about the FREEDOM SYSTEM is that you can mix and match what you want inside your pallete.

I created my own FREEDOM SYSTEM pallete containing 10 round eyeshadows. INGLOT no longer sales Round eyeshadows, only square eyeshadows.

Packaging
One of the unique factors or INGLOT's palettes is the packaging. The pans come in a black palette, but the top portion is a clear fixture with magnets at each corner to securely attach to the bottom portion of the palette. The eyeshadows fit securely into the palette and I assure you that they WILL NOT fall out. Packaging for this product is a definite A+ from me. Very original!

Product
INGLOT's eyeshadows are the perfect product. They have a variety of colors and finishes which insures the consumer that they will find something they like. The colors are some of the most pigmented eyeshadows that I've ever come across. In my opinion, INGLOT shadows surpass those of brands like MAC cosmetics. The pigmentation is amazing!

Price
At only $5 a shadow, no other company can beat out INGLOT. Granted, they are worth much more if we're talking about quality, but at under $10 a shadow, no one else comes close to them!

Performance
INGLOT eyeshadows blend very easily, and stand out no matter what color you choose. The performance is amazing. They are long lasting as well.

Disclaimer: This palette was made for me, and I forgot to ask the numbers/names of each shadow. So I went to the website and tried to "eyeball" the shadows in my palette and match them with those on the site. Hopefully I got them all right!

Left to Right- Matte 330,, Pearl 430, AMC 51, DS 495, Pearl 449
Shine 41, Matte 345, AMC 70, Pearl 428, Matte340
INGLOT is a amazing company. If you choose to try them out, I promise you wont be disappointed!

Magnolia Makeup Swatches and Review

Hello fabulous people! I know its been a little while, but as promised, here are the swatches for the pigments I purchased from Magnolia Makeup. If you watched my video, I said that I had made another order for 1 special pigment. Well that pigment "Gilded" arrived and is included in this review.

(left to right) #289 Camel, #025 Aerial, #008 O.C.S., #159 Gilded, #101 Caramel
Packaging
The products came in a small shipping envelope with bubble wrap inside it. They were not wrapped in anything, but because the envelope was small, there was little room for the pigments to move around inside. The only thing I didn't like, which instantly caught my attention when I opened the package, was there was no Order Sheet to let you know what you purchased, or an "Thanks for purchasing Magnolia Makeup" paper or anything. I'm use to seeing something inside from the company, but there was nothing. I think it is important to show your customers you appreciate their business.
Price
Upon researching the pigments at first, I thought $10 was a little steap. But after, because of quality, I assume $10 is alright. Definitely looking forward to some type of SALE though, lol.
Product
The product itself is amazing. Very nice, vivid, bright colors with great pigmentation. These pigments dont disappoint!
Performance
These pigments blend very well, and are wondeful on the performance tip! Get you some!

#008 O.C.S. Bright orange with gold particles inside.

#159 Gilded Beautiful Metallic gold

#025 Aerial Gorgeous teal blue color
#101 Caramel A medium yellow toned brown (perfect for blending harsh lines)
#289 Camel A light brown with pink undertones (perfect for brow bone highlght on caramel-dark skin)
Overall: Great product! Will I purchase again??? YES!!

Orange Sky and Blue Clouds

Hello Lovebugs! Here is a description of the products used for my look in my recent video entitled "Magnolia Makeup Review" on YouTube. You can watch the review video directly from this page, or my youtube channel page www.youtube.com/MsTaylor0304. Also, by request, I will be doing a complete tutorial video for this look as well.

EYES:
Prime: I primed my eyes with Two Faced Shadow Insurance

Eyeshadow:
I used th silver from my Wet n' Wild "Blue Had Me at Hello" palette for my tearduct area.
For my lid, next to my tearduct, I used Magnolia Makeup O.C.S. pigment (A shimmery orange pigment with gold flakes).
The inner 2/3 portion of the lid has Magnolia Makeup Aeriel (teal blue with light silver shimmer) Pigment.
In the outer lid I blended in a matte black from my "Blue Had Me at Hello" Wet n' Wild palette. I also blended the black into my crease area.
I blended out my black with Magnolia Makeup Caramel Pigment, placing it slightly on top of the black in the crease.
My highlight is Magnolia Makeup Camel pigment.
Directly under the arch of my brow, I placed Soft Touch eyeshadow by MAC to give the brow a POP.

Eyeliner
I used Maybelline Ultra Liner Waterproof Liquid Liner with a angled eyeliner brush to line my lash line.
For my waterline, I used URBAN DECAY 24/7 Liner in Zero.
Brows:
MAC brow pencil in Stud and filled them in with a dark brown eyeshadow(no name) using a angled brow brush.

FACE:
ELF Studio tinted moisturizer in Almond.

Concealer:
Bobby Brown concealer in Golden.

Contour:
I contoured my cheeks with MAC Swiss Chocolate (chocoloate brown) eyeshadow and a Eco Tools Blush brush.

Blush:
Wet N' Wild Color Icon blusher in Heather Silk (rosey pink).

Highlight:
Cheeks were highlighted with MAC Lusterdrops in SunRush.

I did not use foundation in this look.

Lips:
NYX Abu Dhabi Soft Matte Lip Cream with MAC Entice Tinted Lipglass on top.
